Romantic Winter Wedding at Clisby Pines
Peyton and Sam's wedding was truly serene. The weather called for some rain, but as Georgia weather goes, the hourly forecast gave us the OK to have the ceremony outdoors. I must give it to the florist and planner to be able to create magic of a switch up. We got stunning portraits of Peyton in front of the arch that would have been used for the indoor ceremony thanks to the quick thinking of Amy, the planner. While outdoor ceremonies are usually the preference, Clisby Pines offers both options and either one would have been stunning. Clisby Pines in nestled in the North Georgia area, just shy of a couple hours from Atlanta, in the Tunnel Hill, Dalton area.
About Peyton and Sam
Peyton and Sam are first and foremost, best friends. There is nothing more satisfying to me than hearing this from a couple as I truly believe it is the foundation to any long-lasting relationship. They both possess just enough opposite to attract, a couple old souls which I can absolutely identify with. Sam and Peyton met in college drum-line and in the midst of COVID affection started to bloom. Well, technically, someone was playing hard to get. And no, it was not Peyton. Peyton, however, she's a girl with a mission and is a little more headstrong. While the feelings went dormant, the fall brought them back in line where they had their first kiss, and well, as you know how the story goes, the rest is history.
Sam and Peyton's Wedding weekend began with a beautiful rehearsal dinner. I always enjoy the rehearsal dinner shenanigans. Everyone is happy and laughing, in love, and there is no pressure of a wedding day timeline. The last evening as an engaged couple and I love getting to know the family and friends that they hold near and dear to their heart. The speeches are some of my favorite moments and while a photo can't capture what exactly is being said, it can capture the emotion which I always enjoy looking back at.
Arriving at Clisby Pines, the morning was overcast, but warm. Started with the wedding details as everyone was finalizing plans and looks. Peyton's colors were a range of burgundy to blush with neutrals and greens, and then Navy to tie it in. A great contrast to the white of Clisby Pines, but fitting for the season and atmosphere of the pines that surround the venue. Peyton and Sam both getting ready with their closest friends and family. A little fun fact: Peyton's shoes were designed in Greece. Their rings are somewhere inbetween old and borrowed.
Even if a Bride and Groom opt out of a first look, I highly recommend a first look with someone else whether that be your bridal party or a family member. Peyton had a sweet first look and gift exchange with her father.
One of my favorite additions to the timeline is Peyton taking a shot with the boys! Such a fun moment! This is what your wedding day is all about. Taking time to really enjoy the day, nothing too serious.
If Peyton could be any more naturally gorgeous, I really don't know. A few bridal portraits before the big moment. Her florals made for the most picturesque portraits. Timeless and trendy.
Groomsman and Bridesmaid portraits before the ceremony. Auburn band royalty before us. The guys had a blast as you can see. The ladies in their burgundy and blushes, such a gorgeous combination.
And before the ceremony, Peyton and Sam took the time to read their vows to each other. Loved that they incorporated this into our timeline for the day, especially right before ceremony time.
Peyton and Sam's ceremony began with the beautiful sound of string instruments. The flower guys came through effortlessly. Peyton radiating beauty as she walked towards Sam. Vows exchanged with a fun handshake and then, together, Sam and Peyton walked back down the aisle in that just married bliss.
I really enjoyed photographing Sam and Peyton's beautiful day and feel so honored to be a part of this time for them. Wishing them the best and lifetime of marital happiness!
